Lost in Translation

I really dislike that movie. I also really wish I didn’t have to reference it, but lately I have been feeling like Scarlet Johannson (sp)’s character, of not doing anything and loafing around unhappily. I can’t seem to concentrate on anything, especially school work. The last few days, I’ve been droning online, obsessively checking my etsy. I need to pay for grad school applications, dammit! I also need money to live, which right now I’m barely scrapin’ by (perhaps I shouldn’t have bought those raspberries).

Aside from not being productive, I have been having very scary dreams. One of them involved Allison Sissom, an 18x3x3 ft glass column separated into 3x3x3 ft “prisons”, getting kidnapped, Jeff Browning, Rosemary Melton, kitchen knives, raw potatoes, and Beta fraternity body guard brothers. The other scary dream I’ve had in the last few days was about a zombie apocalypse. This dream was somewhat intentionally induced though. I have been playing Left 4 Dead with Colin, for fun, but also with hopes of having vivid, lucid dreams about my survival, should a scenario like that actually happen. Success.

Oh, and I’m positive I got an A in Math.

Man, they are so delicious! I haven’t had Cheerios in a long time, but Colin just bought some and they are da bomb! I usually don’t eat cereal at all. I rarely ate it as a kid. In fact, I think even with my latest cereal kick, I’ve probably only consumed ten 16 ounce boxes of cereal or less in my entire life.

Although we went to bed at one, and I woke up at eight, I am so tired. I know that doesn’t seem like a lot of sleep otherwise, but I usually don’t get this much and am fine the next day.

I have bags being consigned by Pish Posh Boutique in Clarinda, Iowa! I hope this deal works out. I had never really thought about making Gang Greene a real thing other than a hobby (and for that matter, to pay for groceries or grad school applications).

Speaking of Grad School here are my top picks:

1) Portland State University

2) KU

3) Cranbrook Institute of Art (lol, yeah right! Total reach)

4) Seattle University

Now, I’m looking at Seattle U only for their Art leadership program. I realize that I don’t really need to do that yet, so I may hold it off. If you’ve also noticed, there aren’t any law schools present on this list either. I have been thinking about holding off on that too because the job market there looks so grim (that’s what my mom says/thinks). I did pretty well on the LSAT so hopefully things change, because I would like to practice one day.

My dream school is Portland State University. It has everything I want and more!

I haven’t looked to extensively otherwise. I’ll likely do more research in the next week.

Space Upgrade

WordPress is telling me that my space upgrade is about to expire, coincidentally on Colin’s Birthday. I’m going to try to upload as much media as I can, the next few posts in the event that I don’t renew it.

Last night, Colin and I watched Inception. I enjoyed it a lot. I often have dreams within dreams so the whole concept was kind of freaky to think about. Also, usually whenever I have a dream within a dream, they’re usually lucid.

Right now, I’m studying for a test. Read Read Read-ing.

Speaking of Xander, he left town on Friday to go home for the weekend and he was supposed to get back on Monday or Tuesday. Wednesday rolls around and he still hasn’t shown up. Long story short, Xander caught Colin and I both half naked coming out of the shower together after we were belting out Mariah Carey. So embarrassing….

I’ve realized over the last couple of days that I haven’t written in here for weeks. A lot of it has to do with how busy I’ve been and how weird my priorities have been lately.

For starters, I have been taking summer courses. I have a college algebra class at MACC that somehow I still have an A in and then a graduate level Fibers class. Next week starts my sociology course. For fibers, it was an everyday class, and I probably was in the studio for 25 hours every week. Now that I look back on it, I think that I should have actually worked more…:/ I think I could have produced even more and more beautiful stuff.

However, even though school should be my number one priority, lately it’s been money and how I don’t have any. Because of this, I’ve been obsessed with selling things on my Etsy account. In fact, if anyone even reads this anymore, I’m going to pimp out my store. It’s GangGreeneCo.etsy.com. My Etsy account has been my number one priority the last week that I’ve neglected more important things, and especially people. Money is such a little shit for me that I’ve had entire days ruined for me because of the stress, and I’ve unfortunately have been expressing my grief onto Colin. I feel incredibly guilty now, especially in retrospect, about involving him in my problems, and then pushing him away when he’s trying to help. I’m such a bitch!
