Have you SEEN the lineup for Sasquatch this year???? It’s SOO nuts; I totally creamed my pants. I am so tempted to go….
Colin and I researched neckbeards today and why no one should ever own one. We were looking at facial hair, because March is just around the corner. Men everywhere should celebrate Mustache March and grow one.
I had a Pop Test on Monday, and I think I finally have a direction I want to move towards for my show. [crossed fingers]
Right now, I am sitting in a coffee shop, doing absolutely nothing. I guess I am blogging. And drinking a latte.
Currently blogging from Mocha Hut, I am in true coffee ecstasy. (The link probably won’t work yet, because I was the first to review it on Yelp!) The coffee here is so good! It’s actually wonderful.
I was going to the post office to mail some things and decided to check this place out. I really love just sitting around coffee shops and loitering. Is that a hobby? If it is, it’s my favorite past time. The unfortunate thing about sitting at coffee shops and loitering is that when you sit so long and drink warm milk, you really have to poop. Luckily, I only live down the street from here! For people in KVille, if you love coffee and haven’t been here yet, try it! My review should go up within the next few days so you’ll know exactly why I love this place, other than the large window I am sitting by typing right now, watching cars drive by. Strangely worded sentence??? Yes!
but this video really spoke to me—but only the first viewing. Don’t watch it more than once, or you will be ruined.
Today, the Haus went to Aldi and Hyvee for some foodstuffs, and we all (except for Ashley) bought 99¢ loaves of freshly baked Italian bread that was still warm. MMMMmmMmMmmMmMMMmm.
I’m totally fucked, because I have two critiques this week; a fibers one tomorrow, and a drawing one on Wednesday, both I have like NO work to show for.
This past weekend was Ok. Colin and I ate a lot of food, went to the Friends of the Gallery event and schmoozed, and celebrated Valentine’s Day by playing Super Metroids and worshipping the gamer Red Scarlet, and not doing anything particularly special.
Looking Rugged
UnshoweredKisses
and eating ice cream in bed
I also made this really delicious sardine, avocado and fried egg open-faced sandwich last week.
Last night, I went to my first intro week event this recruitment week. It was bowling night and when I got there, there was a film crew filming the whole thing. Apparently, they had been waiting there for us and somehow, I ended up being interviewed for their news segment. They said that this would probably help us with recruitment. More than anything, I’m sure that I’ve probably deterred people from joining rather than helping us.
Whatevs.
I had two Sodexho build-your-own BLTs and now I have Captain Crunch mouth-deterioration-syndrome. The roof of my mouth and lower gums underneath my tongue are regretting every last mayonnaise, lard dripping bite.
Colin and I have reservations for Sushi tonight, followed by schmoozing with some art adults, and then a date with Samus Aran.
I’m liking the folks in my nude modeling class more and more! Maybe they even look up to me!!! The pose I chose today was kind of hard, but for the first time, Garry didn’t just leave the fluorescent lights on and had the more forgiving spot lights on instead. Just now, while I was looking up how to spell “fluorescent”, my e-dictionary actually pulled up “Florissant” first. It read:
a historic city in east central Missouri, northwest of St. Louis; pop.50,497.
I like how people found my blog by searching things like, “Samus Aran No Clothes On” and “TSU Nude” and “Jeff Browning Died”.
Today, I bought some Valentines from Print Club. I also got to eat some yummy yummy Indian food from the Sub. They have some guest celebrity chef, or something, there and I had mango chutney grilled cod, rice, seasoned potatoes, naan, and the most delicious lemon curd and curried mint cupcake. Easily the best meal I’ve eaten at Sodexho.
The last two weeks have been HECTIC. I’m constantly trying to meet deadlines for my BFA show, and being bogged by my other classes and work. Let me give you the goods on life otherwise.
This Friday, Colin and I are attending the Friends of the Gallery Fundraising event. I guess this means that we’ll schmooze with the grownups. Really though, this could be our only Valentines day celebration this weekend. Intro week is happening and I am so out of the loop. BOB is not my top priority anymore, which is sad to say. I just don’t have as much time for it as I’d like to, and I feel like an old lady there anyways. Last weekend was the retreat and I have a lot of pictures to upload, but just haven’t found the time yet. Maybe I will tomorrow.
Young Mike and I have forgiven each other for our wrong doings. We are in love again.
Also, nude modeling really sucked today. I’ve been sick since last Wednesday (I’m fairly certain), and today, I brought in music to play. I wasn’t cold until the end of the session, at which point I was shivering. I’m so sorry, students! I feel like a jackass. I was also on my rag, so I was wearing panties. It’s funny how they all drew it in…
Here’s a couple of songs I put into my Nude Modeling soundtrack:
Finally, for Spring Break, Colin and I are taking the Megabus up to Chicago. Plans aren’t totally finalized, but we’ve bought bus passes.
The snow in KV sucks a big one right now. I wish I were Jessica or Ciera basking in the winter sun, or Cheryl who is stressed out from midterms, but is being loved by Seattle.
I miss my family but it’s hard to get a hold of them.
