She’s gonna make it after all!

November 22, 2009

I started writing this in the Minneapolis, but surprisingly, they didn’t have free airport internet!

I’m currently in the Twin Cities, makin’ it happen like Mary Tyler Moore.  Ok, not really, but even though I’m not downtown, I honestly wanted to put on my hat, and then throw it up in the air, here at the airport.

My flight got here early.  In fact, half of my flight was empty.  I had an entire row to myself!

Now, I’m at my sister’s house in Queen Anne.  I got into Seattle like 30-40 minutes early, and I tried calling Cheryl (according to her, she has 15 missed calls from me during a one hour interval).  I decided I didn’t want to wait at the airport for her, since I’ve been doing that shit all day.  She never answered the phone, but I somehow figured out how to take the light rail!  I am awesome.  I got out at the University Station walked up Seneca and Fourth, and felt like I was going to cry.  I’m in fucking Seattle!  I don’t think I have ever felt more at home in a city than I do here.  I yelled, “I love you, Seattle”, up into the sky on the corner of Fourth and Seneca as I watched this Ambulance pull in across the street at this apartment complex and bring someone down.  I passed 6 homeless people just walking up the street from the Sound Station.  It hasn’t stopped raining, not even one bit!  I love this place.  And I have so many big plans for tomorrow.  We’re gonna run 20 miles, then hit up Ivar’s Salmon House for the 4 hour, all-you-can-eat seafood brunch buffet, come home, get ready for an ugly sweater-thanksgiving themed potluck dinner (in my honor!) and then make plans for the next day, which I already know what I’m doing.  Because my life here in Seattle is completely different from how I feel like my life is anywhere else in the world, from here on out, I’m going to (mostly) exclusively update my “my life in seattle blog”.  I’ll update this one, if something absolutely crazy happens, or something emotionally related happens. You can find that blog, here @ my life in seattle dot wordpress dot com. Awesome.

Seattle awaits!
